Dedicated to the beauty that is created from a little sweat and a lot of tender love and care.
The idea behind Sweet Stems was formed out of a passion for growing and caring for flowers in the garden and developed into a way to share that love with others in our community. The self serve stand opened for business in the summer of 2021 with the hope of bringing something special to those in the area that could use some added happiness in their lives, that same happiness these blooms have added to our life everyday.
Whether you have acres of land or just a pot of dirt as long as you have healthy soil and a will to grow there is a way. Before Sweet Stems came to be my dedication to flowers was directed toward my surrounding garden beds. Each and every year I would add more perennials and mix in my favorite cutting annuals. During these months I would play around with cutting flowers and began putting together arrangements for my family and I to enjoy.
It all starts with an idea!
As we all know too well the year of 2020 was unimaginable. During this time local goods took on a new appreciation and emphasis on consumer buying. With many in the community looking to buy fresh and local products I suddenly found myself looking for ways to turn my passion for flowers into a business and way to serve my community. The idea that my flowers could bring cheer and brightness to folks at a very dark and lonely time was something that drove me to turn my dream into a reality.
Small with a big heart and a lot of love.
Here we are now in 2023 with our second year under our belts. It has been a true learning experience taking pride in our successes and opportunity in failures for improvement as we look to grow the business. We are a small farm working off of just under a half acre of land in Whately Massachusetts to grow our beautiful flowers. The plot may be small but the time and dedication put into the quality of stems used to make our bouquets is far from it. We are dedicated to using quality products from the seeds we buy to the growing practices we use all the way to harvesting techniques and preparations to ensure that blooms are at their freshest when they reach your hands. We put a lot of love into everything we grow at every stage including the design stage, hand selecting complimentary colors and flower varieties to appeal to an array of customer preferences.
Offerings

We sell mainly out of our self serve stand where we provide 16 ounce or 32 ounce mason jar arrangements as well as medium sized bouquet wraps.

We operate a CSA (subscriptions) for those located in the Franklin/Hampshire County area. 4 week Spring (May and June) subscriptions as well as a 12 week Summer subscription for flower enthusiasts.

We take special order requests online for pickup or minimal delivery options.

We work with customers and local vendors to provide floral services for those looking to plan the wedding or event of their dreams.

Kirstin Miner is a native to the Franklin County Area, she has a passion for growing and arranging beautiful flowers for those in the local community to enjoy.

Whether it's the smell of a bouquet of freshly cut flowers to your nose or the gesture of giving someone a brightly colored bouquet as a weekly pick me up it is safe to say that all of what we experience from flowers is sweet and here at Sweet Stems that is our mission to provide the sweetest stems straight from the farm to your hands.
